Yukon Gold: This cultivar was created by the Canadians in the 1960s and officially marketed in 1980. Its been a stable of the yellow potato market since its inception. It has a thin smooth skin with pink splashes on the eyes, with a yellow tinged flesh. The tubers are susceptible to bacterial, fungal, and viral infections. But are phenomenal boilers, bakers, and french fryers.
