Dark Red Norland has dark red skin, white flesh, and produces beautiful purple flowers. This cultivar is a determinate variety with a short season. It’s often used as a boiler potato and is common in potato salads. In 1957, Norland was released by North Dakota State University. In 1965, growers in Nebraska selected the “Red Norland” and “Dark Red Norland” from the original strain.
